The Greater Sudbury Police Service says it’s investigating two collisions Tuesday evening, including one that involved a pedestrian. In an email to CTV News and on social media, police said a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Notre Dame Avenue between Burger King and McDonald’s, closing the roadway for several hours. Police described the crash as “serious” and said a reconstruction team was called out to assist in the investigation, police said. Notre Dame fully reopened at about 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning. A second collision at Elm Street and Lasalle Boulevard (Big Nickel Mine Drive) is also under investigation. Police said a reconstruction team was also called out to this crash site, with the roadway again closed for several hours -- reopening shortly before 3 a.m. on Wednesday. Police have not released any details on the cause of the crashes, any injuries sustained or whether any charges are pending. With files from CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca journalist Amanda Hicks
