The UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service says a man from the Ottawa area is facing multiple charges as a result of a human trafficking investigation in a first nation in Northern Ontario. According to a news release from police, officers learned that a man from around Ottawa had travelled to Sheshegwaning First Nation on Manitoulin Island “in connection with alleged criminal activity.” As a result of their investigation, Rahiem Quincy Geddes, a 30-year-old Ottawa area man also known as “Q,” was arrested and is now facing multiple charges. Geddes’s charges include trafficking in persons, criminal harassment, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, theft under $5,0000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, trafficking in a Schedule I substance and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. The accused was scheduled to appear in bail court on Friday. The charges have not yet been proven in court.
