A section of Woodroffe Avenue has reopened after being closed while crews clean up paint that spilled onto the road. The Ottawa Police Service said just before 8 a.m. Tuesday that paint cans fell from a vehicle travelling northbound on Woodroffe Avenue between West Hunt Club Road and Slack Road during the morning commute, prompting lane closures. No injuries have been reported. A traffic camera in the area showed firefighters spraying water onto the roadway. Ottawa Fire Services public information officer Nick DeFazio told CTV News Ottawa that the paint was water-based, so firefighters hosed down the road to clean it up. A hazardous materials team was not required. Several 20-litre cans of white paint had spilled across two lanes, DeFazio said. Police said no charges have been laid against the driver of the vehicle at this time. Lanes reopened just before 9 a.m.
