Ontario Provincial Police say a traffic stop for a flat tire led to impaired driving charges for a Vermont man. According to police, an officer patrolling County Road 38 in Central Frontenac Township noticed a flat tire on a pickup truck that towing another pickup truck on a utility trailer at around 12:45 p.m. Sunday. The officer pulled the driver over to warn him about the safety concern but during the stop, gave the man a roadside screening test, which led to an arrest. The 70-year-old man from Colchester, Vt., is charged with driving while impaired and having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on Sept. 1.
