OTTAWA -- Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke with Prince William on Monday, according to a note from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The PMO did not provide any further details on what the two discussed. According to British media outlets, the Prince of Wales discussed his “longstanding affection” for Canada.

CTV News has asked Kensington Palace for a statement.

The call took place on the first day of the fall sitting of Parliament.
