Two more cyclists and a pedestrian have been injured in vehicle collisions in Regina. According to Regina police, all three collisions happened within the last 24 hours, with the most recent one occurring Thursday morning. The first one happened on Wednesday, Sept. 30 around 2 p.m. near McCarthy Boulevard and Read Avenue. Police responded to a reported collision between a cyclist and a vehicle and found the cyclist with what appeared to be minor injuries. The cyclist did not go to the hospital afterwards. Later around 5:30 p.m., police were also called to the intersection of Quance Street East and Coleman Street for another incident involving a vehicle and cyclist. This cyclist was a man who seemed to be suffering from “serious” but non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment and the investigation into the collision is ongoing. The third collision occurred around 8 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Albert Street and Seventh Avenue. Police say female of an unspecified age was struck by a vehicle. She was taken to hospital by EMS with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. That investigation into this matter is also ongoing. The three incidents reported Thursday are the latest in a recent surge of reported vehicle-pedestrian collisions in Regina. Since Sept. 18, Regina Police Service has responded to over a dozen reported collisions involving vehicles and pedestrians or cyclists. One of the incidents claimed the life of Everett Alexson, 34, who died after a collision between a vehicle and his e-bike. In light of this trend, Regina police have once again issued a reminder about the importance of road safety and issued the following advice.
