A fire at Mike’s Place Restaurant in Chatham has been deemed accidental by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and Chatham-Kent Fire. The fire happened on Tuesday at the Queen Street restaurant. Investigators said they have thoroughly investigated the scene, and the blaze was caused by an electrical issue inside. No evidence of criminal activity was found. The building sustained significant damage, an estimated $1 million, but nobody was injured. The investigation has now wrapped up.
