Hundreds gathered in Regina at the Depot Division for the RCMP National Memorial Service dedicated to those who lost their lives in the line of duty. This year, no new names were added to the RCMP’s honour roll. “The RCMP National Memorial Service brings our RCMP family together to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to Canadians. Their legacy lives on through the values they upheld, the communities they served and the people they inspired,” said RCMP Commissioner Mike Duheme in a news release. The parade took place in Depot’s Sleigh Square. Mounties from across the country participated, including cadets, officers, veterans, the RCMP pipes and drums as well as the cadet band. Among those in attendance were dignitaries, government officials, partner agencies, families, friends and community members. “Depot Division is honoured to host this annual service of remembrance,” said Depot’s Commanding Officer Mike Lokken. “It provides an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of our fallen members while standing alongside their families, friends and colleagues.”
