RCMP Federal Policing has charged an 18-year-old from Yorkton with terrorism-related offences over a series of videos connected to what RCMP describe as a violent online group. The teenager was arrested by the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) on Sept. 24 following a report of “concerning online activity.” “INSET began an investigation into a Telegram user who allegedly posted a series of videos depicting real-world activity as a 764 member. Investigators found the user was also referenced in numerous 764-related chatrooms on Discord and Telegram,” RCMP said in a press release. The group 764 was listed as a terrorist entity in Dec. 2025, and RCMP describe it as a “transnational online ecosystem of violent online predators who coerce youth to participate in acts involving child sexual abuse and exploitation, self-harm, and the torture of animals.” Police also say elements of the network are known to have “extreme ideological views and are victimizing children through desensitizing and radicalizing them to violence.” The 18-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act due to the offences being committed while they were a youth, has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court Tuesday. The teenager faces charges of participation in activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity, and commission of an offence for a terrorist group. RCMP will not be making any further comment, as the case is now before the courts. Canada is the first country to list 764 as a terrorist entity, according to the federal government.
