A Saskatchewan man is facing over 20 charges following an investigation in Prince Albert. On Aug. 28, members of the Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) Crime Reduction Team (PACRT,) Patrol Unit and RCMP CRT executed a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of 18th Street West, as well as a vehicle, connected to an investigation into drug trafficking and firearm possession. Police seized four airsoft pistols, a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun, a crossbow, ammunition, 1.3 grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale. Earlier that day, the 34-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants. A search led to the seizure of about 11 grams of meth, 2.6 grams of cocaine, a machete, over $2,500 in Canadian cash, a digital scale and many small bags. The man faces 21 total charges, including firearms offences under the Criminal Code, and weapons-related offences as a result of the search. He’s scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Sept. 3.
