A Mississauga man is facing murder charges after two men were fatally shot, and a woman was wounded, in south Etobicoke almost five years ago. The incident happened on Jan. 3, 2022 in an industrial area in the Alderwood neighbourhood, at 150 Thirtieth St., south of Horner Avenue and east of Browns Line. Toronto police said they were called to the area at 8:45 p.m. for a radio call for a shooting. Investigators say when officers arrived they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds as well as a woman nearby with injuries. All three were taken to the hospital. The two men succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead, while an unidentified woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The victims have been identified as 24-year-old Minyali Wur and 20-year-old Chudier Reat, both of Mississauga. They are Toronto’s third and fourth homicide victims of 2022. Suspect arrested by Windsor police On Saturday, members of Windsor Police Service located and arrested a suspect wanted in connection with the homicide. Darriel Thompson, of Mississauga, has been charged with one count of attempt murder and two counts of second-degree murder. The charges have not been tested in court. Thompson was scheduled to appear in court the morning of Aug. 25. Police previously charged 34-year-old Phillip Grant, of Peel Region, with two counts of second-degree murder, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, and possession of a firearm contrary to order in connection with the same homicide.
