Two children were taken to hospital after they were struck by an SUV in Kelowna Thursday afternoon, according to Mounties. Kelowna RCMP said officers were called to a motor vehicle collision involving pedestrians just before 1 p.m. in the 900 block of Arbor View Drive. “BC Emergency Health Services attended the scene and transported both children to hospital for assessment and treatment. The extent of their injuries is not known currently,” Cpl. Steven Lang told CTV News in an email. “Police have taken one individual into custody as part of the investigation.” RCMP said the investigation is still in its early stages but alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the crash. Mounties are asking drivers and residents to avoid the area of Arbor View Drive and Marin Court while officers complete their investigation.
