CTV News Vancouver has won five Radio Television Digital News Association awards for its news coverage over the past year, including in the Enterprise Journalism category. That honour was given to veteran anchor and reporter Michele Brunoro for her multi-part series Hidden in Pain Sight: Human Trafficking and the B.C. Connection. Reporter St. John Alexander was recognized with three awards, for Excellence in Editing, Excellence in Video and VJ Video for three separate stories, one of which followed bird watchers to one of the largest gatherings of bald eagles in the world. CTV News Vancouver also received the Breaking News award for coverage of last fall’s flooding in the Fraser Valley, which was inundated after Washington’s Nooksack River spilled its banks. “From difficult and courageous investigative journalism, to keeping our local communities up to date with essential information during a state of emergency, to telling memorable, engaging stories that help keep us connected—the RTDNA awards we are taking home this year really reflect the wide range of work we do each and every day on all of our platforms,” said Ethan Faber, news director at CTV News Vancouver. The awards were handed out this week for the RTDNA West Region. Winners go on to compete with recipients from the Prairies, Central and East regions at the 2026 RTDNA National awards gala in November.
