Mounties in Maple Ridge said a cyclist has been hospitalized in critical condition after colliding with a flat deck truck on Monday afternoon. RCMP said officers were called to the 22800 block of Lougheed Highway at around 1 p.m., near the city’s Haney neighbourhood. “Officers on scene learned that an adult male cyclist collided with a flat deck truck in the area,” reads a statement from Maple Ridge RCMP. B.C. Emergency Health Services told CTV News that paramedics responded and “provided emergency medical care and transported one patient to hospital in critical condition.” Police say the truck driver involved remained on scene after the collision. An investigation is ongoing, according to Maple Ridge RCMP, who said they’ll provide no further information at this time.
