One person was arrested and another was airlifted to a trauma centre following a crash on Conestogo Lake. Emergency responders were called to the conservation area Saturday around 5 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police did not specify what kind of vehicle was involved, only that the two people involved were on a personal watercraft. The passenger was taken to a local hospital. Police said they were later airlifted to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver initially took off, but was found during a search of the area. Police said the man appeared to be impaired. The 51-year-old from Waterloo was charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm, operation causing bodily harm, failure to stop at an accident that resulted in bodily harm, and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
