A 22-year-old man is in hospital in critical condition after a shooting in Surrey, B.C. The Surrey Police Service’s major crime unit is investigating the incident. Authorities say the shooting is not believed to be extortion related. Patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 9000 block of Snowdon Place just before 9:45 p.m. Monday. Arriving on scene in the residential Central Surrey neighbourhood, investigators found “evidence of a shooting and signs of injury, but no suspects or victim,” the Surrey Police Service said in a news release Tuesday. Additional officers attended a nearby hospital where a 22-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the investigation remains in its early stages.
