Police say a woman was attacked by a stranger outside of the Vancouver Art Gallery on Friday morning. In a release, the Vancouver Police Department said a 27-year-old woman was walking on the West Georgia Street side of the gallery at around 10:30 a.m. when “an unknown man allegedly kicked her in the upper arm and punched her in the upper body without warning.” “Several concerned bystanders intervened to stop the attack, causing the suspect to flee westbound on West Georgia Street,” police said. The VPD said the woman was not injured. CCTV captured the suspect, and police released an image in hopes someone will recognize him. Police have asked witnesses, drivers with dash camera video from the area Friday morning, and anyone who can identify the man to call the VPD non-emergency line at 604-717-3321.
