The Windsor Police Service has made an arrest in connection with an online marketplace robbery. Just before 9 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a fight in the 2100 block of Wellesley Avenue. Officers said the victim met a man to sell a cell phone that was advertised online. During the meeting, the victim was allegedly assaulted by the suspect, then they reportedly grabbed the phone and tried to run. When the victim tried to stop him, she was dragged across the lawn, choked, and threatened to be shot, according to police. A neighbour heard what was happening, pursued the suspect and tried to restrain the man. The WPS said the suspect hit the bystander in the face multiple times. A third person tried to help, but the suspect allegedly threatened to shoot both of them before leaving. The suspect was wearing a face mask to hide his identity. Police responded and were able to identify the suspect. He was arrested just before noon on Tuesday in the 3000 block of Meadowbrook Lane. A 21-year-old man has been charged with robbery, assault by choking, assault, two counts of uttering threats, and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offense.
