The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has made documents related to the proposed York1 Dresden waste facility available to the public. The documents were given to CK from York1, and the municipality says they are being reviewed by external experts. Chatham-Kent felt it was necessary to make them available to the public due to the need for as much information as possible about the project. York1 agreed to making the documents public, but gave this disclaimer: The documents provided herein have been submitted and authorized by York1 to be posted in accordance with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s procedures. The engagement method for the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) process is overseen by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) through their Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) process. The ECA approval process is dynamic, and additional information and documents may be submitted to the MECP and added from time to time. Further, the MECP may require changes to some of the reports and documentation. As this municipal site is not intended as an engagement and information sharing site for the ECA Amendments, please refer to the MECP and their ERO process for the most up-to-date information. These documents were recently submitted to the MECP. Documents could also include records filed by York1 and CK in connection to York1’s application before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, related to Planning Act requirements for the property.
