Police are seeking help identifying a man seen near the site of two arsons in June at a temporarily closed restaurant and bar in Old Strathcona. The Edmonton Police Service released two still images from area video footage Thursday morning. Investigators have determined that two fires at El Cortez Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar, on Gateway Boulevard north of Whyte Avenue, were intentionally set. The fires occurred between 7:40 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. on June 25 and damaged the building’s rear patio. The second fire caused extensive damage, police said. Police are releasing the images in hopes someone recognizes the man. Investigators are also asking anyone who witnessed the fires or has video footage from the area to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Edmonton police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
