Windsor police checked 340 vehicles during a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program Friday night. The Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit conducted the program at locations throughout the city. Officers administered two roadside tests and arrested one person for allegedly driving while impaired by drugs. Before the RIDE program, officers also stopped 13 e-scooters and e-bikes for alleged violations. Police say the stops resulted in several parental notifications for youth riders, educational warnings and three enforcement actions. One mini gas-powered trail bike was also towed. Officers also responded to a collision involving a vehicle and an e-scooter. Police issued another 85 enforcement actions for various offences, including speeding, driving while suspended and seatbelt violations.
