Winnipeg will play host to a pair of games of a popular baseball format next summer. Banana Ball will stop in Winnipeg for two games in Winnipeg. One game will take place Aug. 26 at Blue Cross Park, while another game will occur at Princess Auto Stadium on Aug. 28. The Texas Tailgaters and The Party Animals will play each other in both games. Banana Ball was created by the Savannah Bananas in 2016. The game is a blend of baseball, music, entertainment and fan participation with unique rules. It has steadily grown in popularity in the United States, and in addition to games in Winnipeg, the game will be played in Toronto and Mexico for the first time next year. Fans interested in attending must join a ticket lottery list before it closes on Oct. 31 at 10:59 p.m. The organization says joining the list does not guarantee an opportunity to purchase tickets. A random draw will take place before the event to determine who will have a chance to purchase tickets, and those selected will be contacted directly for instructions on how to purchase. The ticket lottery entry can be found online.
