A stretch of perfectly timed sunny and unseasonably warm weather is upon us on Friday in southern Manitoba as the weekend quickly approaches. Sunshine has returned to the region Friday after a low pressure system crossed the province Thursday. Wind from the southwest will be strong and gusty across the south, with most regions forecast to reach highs near 10 C or 11 C this afternoon, including Winnipeg and Brandon. Sunshine will continue throughout the weekend as temperatures soar well above normal into the mid- to upper teens. It won’t end there either—expect sunny and unseasonably warm temperatures to continue until at least Wednesday. Cloudier skies have settled over much of northern Manitoba Friday. Temperatures will rise well above freezing in most areas with the exception of Churchill, with a forecast high of -2 C. Central areas will see clouds clear throughout the afternoon, giving way to sunnier skies. Northwestern Ontario will see a mix of cloudy skies in Kenora and surrounding areas Friday, while communities further east, including Dryden, will enjoy more of a mix of sun and cloud. Daytime highs will reach 6 C or 7 C across the region.
