Manitoba Hydro says they’re getting closer to resolving the power outages from Wednesday’s storm that slammed Winnipeg and southern Manitoba. According to an online update posted on social media Sunday morning, Hydro crews are working on 40 remaining power outages from the storm, with fewer than 100 customers impacted. “We’re working to get these remaining customers back on today, but that could depend on damage and required repairs,” the post reads. “We know this has been a long haul — extended outages are never easy. We appreciate your patience and understanding.” The storm on Wednesday knocked out power to more than 30,000 Manitobans and is the most destructive summer storm Hydro has responded to.
