Winnipeg firefighters responded to four fires Sunday night, including one at a vacant restaurant that was struck in an arson spree last year. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the site of Boujee restaurant at 5:38 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke coming from the building. Crews spent four hours battling the blaze, getting it under control at 9:40 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene overnight extinguishing hotspots. No occupants were found inside the building and no injuries were reported. WFPS said the building suffered significant fire, water and smoke damage. The restaurant was damaged by fire in October 2025, which was later determined to be arson. The WFPS also responded to two fires on Stella Avenue, five hours apart. The first fire occurred in the 800 block of Stella Avenue at 5 p.m. Firefighters had the blaze under control at 6:21 p.m. One firefighter was assessed on scene and taken to hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported. No occupants were in the home at the time. The second fire on Stella Avenue took place at a bungalow in the 700 block. Crews responded to the fire at 10:51 p.m., with the fire being declared under control at 11:16 p.m. One resident at the home was assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospitalization. The city’s emergency social services team was called to assist displaced residents. The final fire took place in the 200 block of Simcoe Street. Firefighters responded to a fire in a two-storey home at 6:30 p.m. and the fire was declared under control at 7:14 p.m. All occupants of the home evacuated before firefighters arrived. WFPS said one firefighter was assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not need to go to the hospital. No other injuries were reported. All four fires are now under investigation. Damage estimates were not available.
