A 28-year-old man is in hospital and a 23-year-old man is in custody after an alleged stabbing in Fredericton on Monday morning. Police responded to a report of an individual with a weapon in the 300 block of St. Mary’s Street around 9 a.m. They found and arrested a suspect after a brief search. “As the incident unfolded, officers learned that a second individual had been stabbed and that third individual had departed the area before officers arrived,” a Fredericton Police Force news release reads. “Police continue to work to locate the individual that fled the scene as part of the investigation.” The victim went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 23-year-old man who was arrested is expected to face weapons and assault-related charges.
