High-risk sex offender residing in Truro area: N.S. police

Police are advising the public of a high-risk sex offender residing in Truro, N.S.

Matthew William Rozins, 43, is a convicted offender with a criminal history committed over several provinces, police say.

He’s been convicted of offences including sexual assault, trespassing at night, indecent acts, assault and criminal harassment.

High-risk sex offender released in New Glasgow: police

The Truro Police Service says it will monitor Rozins’ release and compliance with all court-ordered conditions.

Part of his release conditions include:

• he is prohibited from being in the presence of anyone under 16
• he must not attend public parks, public swimming areas, daycare or community centres, school grounds, playgrounds, or any location youths are present or likely to be
• he must not seek or obtain employment – paid or volunteer – that would put him in a position of trust or authority over people under 16
• he must not have contact with people under the age of 16 unless approved by the court
• he is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

“Any form of vigilante action, intimidation, or harassment directed toward Mr. Rozins will not be tolerated and may result in criminal charges,” says Truro police in a social media post.
