Man facing charges after allegedly threatening people with a knife: Halifax police

A man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened people in the south end of Halifax Friday.

Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a man threatening people with a knife in the 1400 block of South Park Street around 10:30 p.m.

Police say officers located the man in the area and arrested him.

“During the arrest, officers located and seized the knife. There were no reported physical injuries,” reads a news release from the Halifax Regional Police.

Adam Atkinson, 39, was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court Monday to face charges of:

• assault with a weapon
• possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
• two counts of breach of release order
• two counts of breach of probation order
