Nova Scotia musician Lindsay Misiner is riding high following the release of her newest song “Feelings.” “The song is about when all your emotions and life’s troubles come to a boiling point…this is definitely the biggest release of my career so far,” Misiner says. The song was co-written and produced by Shannon Sanders from Nashville, who Misiner met at Nova Scotia Music Week a few years ago. Misiner has taken the R&B scene by storm since the meeting and says she holds the career she’s carved out for herself and her family close. “I’ve wanted to be a famous singer since I was a little girl… it’s for my family and getting us a better life,” she says. “But also, to show others that if you want to be a musician, it’s not going to be easy. You got to work 24/7, 365 days a year. Misiner says if you really want it and you push yourself, being a professional musician is possible. “If I can be the messenger or the beacon to let younger artists or whoever on the come up know that it’s possible, that’s exactly what I want to do.” Misiner is up for two nominations at the upcoming East Coast Music Awards and with “Feelings” now streaming everywhere, she hopes to reach a global audience. “People know who I am in Halifax but the goal is to expand globally. So how am I going to get those new audience members and how do I gain real lifelong fans to go through my journey with me?
