A 44-year-old woman from Halifax was arrested on Sunday for impaired driving after allegedly crashing her car into a ditch in East Chezzetcook, N.S. Nova Scotia RCMP says they responded with EHS to a reported single-vehicle crash around 8:40 p.m. “Officers learned a woman had asked for help getting her vehicle out and was suspected to be impaired,” reads an RCMP news release from Tuesday. At the scene, police say they found a woman calling a tow truck in the driver’s seat of a Honda Civic in the ditch of a parking lot on Debras Way. “An officer spoke with the driver and observed signs of impairment,” reads the release. She was arrested and taken to the Cole Harbour RCMP Detachment where police say she provided two breath samples registering 220 mg% each, nearly three times the legal limit. In Canada, the legal limit is 80 mg%, meaning 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. The woman was released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date.
