A fight at the water’s edge sent onlookers calling 911. Police arrived at Lightfoot Drive near Mississaga Street East on Sunday at around 5:20 p.m. to find that two people had been fighting. The argument escalated and a person was pushed into Lake Simcoe. Bystanders and the Orillia firefighters helped rescue the person from the water where first-aid was administered. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they remain in stable condition. After a foot pursuit, a woman was arrested and taken into custody. A 47-year-old Orillia woman was charged with: The accused was held in custody on Sunday to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia for a bail hearing.
