One person was hospitalized with minor injuries during an incident that brought out several members of provincial police and even helicopters. Orillia OPP say a report for a home invasion brought officers to a residence on Barrie Road, near Mississaga Street around 10:20 p.m. on Sunday night. Residents of the area shared footage with CTV News of officers in full gear patrolling the area with K9 units and helicopters in the sky.’ According to police, an initial investigation indicated that four suspects had entered the home. One of them was believed to be armed and allegedly assaulted the occupant of the home before they all fled the scene. The victim of the assault was transported to a local hospital, police say. The investigation is now in the hands of Orillia OPP’s crime unit and forensic identification services as well as Central Region Emergency Response team.
