One person has died after a multi-vehicle crash in Strathcona County over the weekend. Emergency crews were called to Highway 16 between Range Road 220 and Range Road 221 at 8:57 p.m. on Saturday for a crash involving four pickup trucks. Police say three of the trucks were headed westbound on Highway 16 at the time of the crash, and one was driving eastbound the wrong way on Highway 16. The drivers and occupants of the westbound trucks suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. The driver and lone occupant of the eastbound truck, a 66-year-old man from Gibbons, Alta., suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. He later died in hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation. CTV News Edmonton has reached out to RCMP for more information.
