A two-vehicle MVC (motor vehicle collision) saw a driver ditched at the scene. Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that happened near Ferndale Drive South and Essa Road Saturday at around 2:45 p.m. Police say a beige van was involved in a rear-end collision with a black SUV. The van driver hopped out of his vehicle and then jumped back and sped away. It was last seen heading northbound on Ferndale Drive. The man wore a red T-shirt, blue jeans and a ball cap. The van is believed to be an older model, tan or beige-coloured Honda Odyssey. It will have substantial front-end damage. Police wish to remind drivers that motorists involved in collisions are required to remain at the scene, exchange information with the other driver, and report the collision. Following a collision, call police if anyone is injured, or if the vehicles pose a safety risk. Police do not need to be summoned if it’s a minor collision and the vehicles can safely be removed from the road. Motorists can attend the Collision Reporting Centre at 110 Fairview Road with their vehicle.
