We continued to see above seasonal temperatures for much of southern Alberta on Friday, but clouds moved in a bit quicker than anticipated capping Calgary’s high for the day at 21 C. Late Friday night into Saturday morning winds will get a little gusty out of the northwest, between 20 and 40 km/h. Scattered showers could be a possibility for the city as early as 11 p.m. through to about 10 a.m. Saturday. Areas to south of Calgary like Lethbridge could get a blast of wet weather at around 5 a.m. on Saturday, while communities closer to the Crowsnest Pass could even witness some isolated non-severe thunderstorms in the afternoon. On Sunday, the temperature makes it back into the 20s in southern Alberta with lots of sunshine. That weather will be short-lived as the jet stream repositions over the province bringing cooler air and clouds to the Calgary area which will lower our high to 12 C. But we bounce back nicely on Tuesday and by mid-week we get back into above seasonal territory.
