The federal government is providing The Educational Partnership Foundation with more than $2.1 million in additional funding to expand its Trades Career program. The new funding brings the federal government’s total investment in the project to $5.7 million. The Educational Partnership Foundation supports young Canadians in Alberta and B.C. in developing skills, gaining work experience and pursuing apprenticeship certification in Red Seal trades. “This support is helping more young people discover rewarding careers in the skilled trades while reducing youth unemployment and strengthening the workforce needed to meet Canada’s growing demand for skilled trades professionals,” said Barb Simic, president and CEO of The Educational Partnership Foundation. The federal government says the investment will help prepare the next generation of skilled trades workers to build their futures and strengthen Canada’s workforce.
