Investigation is underway into a workplace accident Wednesday after a roofer fell at least three metres whlle on the job at a southwest Calgary home. A spokesperson from Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) confirmed the incident, which took place Wednesday at 32 Spring Willow Terrace in the community of Springbank. The company’s CEO told CTV News that the worker slipped while climbing a ladder that was secured to the home’s exterior. The man landed on his back. Calgary Elite Roofing said the ladder was wet at the time. EMS transported the man to Foothills hospital in stable condition. “One worker was injured after falling from a height,” OHS said in response to an email request from CTV News. “It is tragic when a worker is hurt on the job, and our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy.”
