Happy May long weekend, Calgary! Saturday will be the messiest and coldest day of bunch, but the forecast will go up from there. On Saturday morning, expect a mix of rain and wet snow that should start to clear out in the afternoon. The sun will likely peek out in the late afternoon, but it will be a cold day as the city hovers around the freezing mark. Three to five centimetres of snow are expected, as well as two to four millimetres of rain. On Sunday, we can expect a mix of sun and cloud as the temperature crawls back just barely into the double digits. There’s a good chance of late afternoon and supper time showers, as well as the risk of a non-severe thunderstorm. Monday will be nice, as the sun shines bright and the temperature gets back into the teens. Ian Matthews saw all types of weather in the city, Friday. Rain, wet snow and even graupel. Here are a couple photos. May long weekend is always interesting in Alberta.
