A new athletic club coming to southeast Calgary will include rooftop fine dining, a luxury spa and an NHL-size rink. Officials with Jayman living and CANA Construction broke ground on The Nostalgia Club on Monday. The Nostalgia Club will be located in Nostalgia Townlet, a new community south of Seton. Jayman says the 400,000-square-foot facility will be “the most prestigious private social and athletic club in North America,” with an aim of bringing together generations through recreation, wellness, dining and business. “The Nostalgia Club began with my own family,” said Jay Westman, chairman and CEO of Jayman Built. “I saw the connections my daughter and her family found through their club, and it made me want to create a place where generations belong together.” CANA chairman John Simpson says as a third-generation family-run business, they’re proud to bring their building experience to a destination “designed for families for generations to come.” Amenities at The Nostalgia Club include: Family amenities The Nostalgia Club will have a 3,000-square-foot gymnastics centre, a multi-purpose gymnasium, a climbing centre with 35-foot walls, a family games room, a bowling centre and six golf and gaming simulator bays. Officials say an NHL-sized ice rink will host skating and hockey programs for children and adults. There will also be childminding services and a supervised youth centre with activities. Athletic amenities The Nostalgia Club will have indoor and outdoor tennis and pickleball courts, indoor padel courts and badminton courts. There will also be a 25,000-square-foot fitness space with training areas, personal training studios, group fitness classes and a 380-metre indoor running track. Athletic amenities The Nostalgia Club will have a 25-metre pool with four competition lanes, a lifestyle pool with waterslides, water play areas, lap lanes and a lazy river. Swimming lessons and open swims will welcome all ages and abilities. Health and wellbeing The Nostalgia Club will have a resort-style luxury rooftop member spa with a sauna, steam therapy, cold plunge, outdoor pools and hot tubs, as well as a by a wellness centre offering physiotherapy, chiropractic care and acupuncture. Business amenities The Nostalgia Club will have ballroom and banquet services, private dining rooms, business lounges and boardrooms for meetings, celebrations and milestone occasions. Officials say there will five dining venues, including a café, sports lounge, rooftop fine dining, cocktail bar and a private speakeasy-style lounge.
