Calgary police are investigating an apparent stabbing that occurred Tuesday morning in the city’s southwest. A woman was taken into custody but later released. The incident happened around 9:50 a.m. in the 100 block of Glacier Drive S.W. “When members got here, they located a male with stab wounds, and he has been transported in serious condition to hospital,” said Sgt. Rich Wall. Police say the man is in his 50s. His condition has been upgraded to stable, police say. At the scene, there was blood on the front step, along with several belongings such as pillows, blankets and a power cord. Neighbour Eva Panajott says she was looking out her bedroom window when she saw a man being stabbed right across the street. She says the victim was yelling with a woman when the altercation happened. “It was a real-life drama, you know? I usually see things like that on television,” she said. The investigation is ongoing. Police say they are again actively looking for a suspect. They believe the suspect is known to the victim. “We’re going to have our forensic crime scene unit look at that scene. Detectives will obviously be looking at and examining the scene as well to see if there are any clues as to what actually happened and what the motive is behind this assault,” Wall said.
