Four people are facing charges after allegedly attacking someone with bear spray over the long weekend in Regina. On Saturday, Sept. 5, at around 8 p.m., officers responded to a reported bear spray attack in the area of Barr Street. The caller told police they had been attacked by a group of four with bear spray. The victim was treated by paramedics for exposure to bear spray. The suspects had reportedly fled the scene on foot. Using the Regina Police Service’s plane, three people matching the suspect’s descriptions were spotted near Avonhurst Drive and Elphinstone Street. Officers arrived at the scene and took the three people into custody. Around two hours later, the fourth suspect was found on the 100 block of N Quebec Street. The four suspects, all men aged 18, 20, 22 and 21, were charged with mischief under $5,000. The 21-year-old was also charged with failing to comply with the conditions of a release order. All four are due in Regina Provincial Court on Oct. 20.
