The Guelph Police Service has charged a woman for assaulting multiple officers while they were trying to take her out of a cell. The woman was in custody on Aug. 17 on an unrelated matter. While officers were taking her out of the cell, they said she was “combative” and tried to kick an officer in the leg. She was taken to hospital for medical treatment, but attacked police once again, scratching the forearms of two officers. One of them required medical attention after her assault broke the officer’s skin. A 51-year-old Guelph woman was charged with three counts of assaulting police.
