Stratford man charged after police seize handgun, drugs and prohibited knife

A 55-year-old Stratford man is facing multiple charges after police seized a handgun, ammunition, drugs and a prohibited knife during a search of a Stratford residence.

Stratford Police said officers executed a search warrant shortly before 5 p.m. Friday.

Police said they seized a .40-calibre Glock 27 handgun, a magazine containing ammunition, a prohibited butterfly knife, eight grams of suspected methamphetamine and 76 hydromorphone pills.

Four people were arrested during the search. Police said one was charged, while the other three were released unconditionally.

The 55-year-old man is facing multiple firearms and weapons-related charges, as well as charges related to drug possession, breach of probation and breach of several weapons prohibition orders.

Police said the man was held for a bail hearing and has been remanded into custody.
