Three of the four suspects in the London, Ont., police investigation near Western University made brief appearances in bail court on Tuesday.

In court two of the cases were put over until Feb. 10, the third suspect until Feb. 24.

The fourth person accused is scheduled for a bail appearance on Wednesday morning.

All four of the accused remain in custody.

Several serious charges have been laid against them.

The police investigation began after one of the suspects was arrested on Western’s campus with a loaded handgun.

That led to a search at a nearby home where police said they found chemicals, which could be used to make explosives.

Jerry Tong, 27, of Ottawa, is charged with the following:

• Carry concealed weapon
• Careless use of a firearm
• Possess loaded regulated firearm
• Resist arrest
• Break and enter with intent
• Occupy a motor vehicle with a firearm
• Unlawful possession of explosives
• Possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm
• Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
• Knowingly manufacturing or transferring a firearm, device, or ammunition

Zekun Wang, 26, of London, is charged with the following:

• Break and enter with intent
• Occupy a motor vehicle with a firearm
• Unlawful possession of explosives
• Possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm
• Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
• Knowingly manufacturing or transferring a firearm, device, or ammunition

Fei (Frank) Han, 25, of London, is charged with the following:

• Unlawful possession of explosives
• Possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm
• Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
• Knowingly manufacturing or transferring a firearm, device, or ammunition
• Weapons trafficking

Feiyang (Astrid) Ji, 21, of London, is charged with the following:

• Unlawful possession of explosives
• Possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm
• Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
• Knowingly manufacturing or transferring a firearm, device, or ammunition

According to social media profiles that match the name and appearance of the accused, all had ties to Western. Tong graduated in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Han received his master’s of engineering in August 2024, and Ji enrolled at Western in 2023. Wang graduated with a Masters of Engineering in 2025, according to the Western Convocation program listing online.
