A trial against an 81-year-old London, Ont. man accused in a rash of assault cases involving Muslim women got underway Monday. In September 2024, a man was reported yelling derogatory comments at someone wearing a hijab near Berkshire Drive and Berkshire Place. Within minutes, another woman got involved. At the time, police said the suspect pulled out a knife before leaving on foot. James Henkel has pleaded not guilty to six counts, which include assault with a weapon.
