OPP in Middlesex are on scene of a fatal crash between a truck and small SUV on Medway Road. Police confirmed that a 17-year-old of Thorndale - the driver of the SUV - has been pronounced deceased. OPP say there are early indications the truck, described by police as a feed truck, was travelling west, while the SUV was eastbound, and crossed the centre line when the collision occurred. The driver of the feed truck suffered minor injuries, and was treated at the scene. A bystander told CTV News the impact sounded like a bomb going off. The violent collision resulted in the truck hitting a hydro pole in the ditch, while pieces of the SUV are strewn on the road. “There’s significant debris,” said Const. Jeff Hare of Middlesex OPP. “We go to a lot of collisions and this one is definitely leaving a mark.” The collision occurred in front of a stretch of houses, about half a kilometre east of Medway High School. CTV News asked if it was a student that was involved, however police did not confirm. Medway is closed between Richmond Street and Adelaide street, and is expected to remain closed for several hours while police investigate. Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact police. - With files from CTV London’s Brent Lale
