The London Knights’ offence exploded in the second period, scoring four unanswered goals, powering them to a comfortable 6-2 win in Guelph Wednesday night. Knights forward Kaeden Hawkins opened the scoring midway through the middle frame, before William Nicholl, Andoni Fimis and Ryan Brown all followed suit. Brown’s goal was his 22nd of the season, tying him with Braiden Clark for the team lead. Jaxon Cover and Rene Van Bommel rounded out the scoring for London in the third period. The victory keeps the Knights in a tight battle for home ice advantage in the opening round of the OHL playoffs, trying to overtake the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for fourth in the Western Conference. London’s last home game of the regular season is Friday night against the Windsor Spitfires. They’ll wrap up the regular season Saturday with a trip to Flint, Mich.
