A 64-year-old man was struck in the head with a blunt object in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough Wednesday evening. The man sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition, Montreal police said. Police said they received a 911 call around 7:40 p.m. reporting a man lying on the ground with a head injury near the intersection of Montcalm Street and Notre Dame Street. According to the police, the man was struck by a male cyclist who reportedly fled the scene following the assault. An investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the assault.
