Quebec police raided a residence, arrested a 49-year-old man, and seized a collection of guns, a crossbow, brass knuckles and other prohibited items on Wednesday. A news release out of the Quebec anti-arms trafficking team (EILTA) said provincial (SQ) and Quebec City (SPVQ) police arrested Jacques Bélanger in the Lac-Mégantic area after an investigation into arms trafficking in Saint-Martin in the Beauce region that began last month. He appeared at the Saint-Joseph courthouse and is facing a theft charge. He remains in custody, and future charges are expected. A search of his Saint-Martin residence resulted in the following seizures: Police were aided by the Quebec City organized crime unit and the provincial organized crime squad.
