Man sent to hospital after stabbing in CDN-NDG borough

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating a stabbing that happened during an altercation in a building at the corner of Queen Mary Road and Trans Island Avenue.

The SPVM received a 911 call around 2:30 p.m. Thursday reporting the incident in the Côte-Des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, a 40-year-old man, injured to the upper body with a sharp object.

He was conscious when he was sent to taken hospital. Police later said his condition was stable.

Initial reports indicated the stabbing followed an altercation between the victim and another man.

No arrests have been made.

A security perimeter has been set up. Investigators are speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
